Luu Dat Painting is thus the visualization of emotional structures and processes. It reduces specific objects and events to their universal elements:

 rhythm, movement, texture, color, eliciting an emotional engagement through the strength of its composition and conveying the shifting of psychological states.

In his abstractions, Luu Dat has been particularly interested in the relationship between line and form, a relationship that parallels those of the perceived world:

 movement and stillness, action and thought, dynamism and placidity. Integrated colors have been chosen for their particular emotional content to reflect

the shifting strengths of these elements within the world of the composition, where abstract spaces are combined with cosmic landscapes and creative myths

 of ancient civilizations: Celestial Ocean, Angel Fire, Mekong Green, Black Sun, Aeolus, Metamorphosis, and other evocative titles are situated within this

 significant plastic emergence. Au-Co is the myth of dichotomy, the original division of the Ancient Viets, the schism between reality and ideal, harmony and

errancy, figures and abstractions. Thus, The Quest for love and peace is drawn on transparent earth tones coupled with frost white and tender blue, cross-fusing

in diagonal structures. If Mekong Green is a serene, Zen-like piece to anchor meditation and nostalgia, Shiva is indeed the shape of destruction and the colors

 of rebirth. And the Myth of Fire, as a romantic inspiration of the home genies, is the expression of Love & Purification in the Vietnamese tradition.

Layers of enamel fluidic colors cover luan wood panels to become on the surface revelation of underground rivers, sky oceans, eclipse of black sun, fire on granite,

aquatic and ethereal dimensions in transient osmosis.  The obsessional presence of the universe in Luu Dat Painting is condensed in a maze of moving cells on

prismatic changes and fixations, by which the abstract integration of color and form becomes a creative vision with mythical undertones always in metamorphosis.

Luu Dat Painting is also communication, a shifting of emotional context to the viewers’ own interpretation of the plastic event.  A new painting emerges from

the discovery and imagination of the onlookers who become instantly co-authors of the art work in contemplation.  The viewers are free to name differently

the same art work, being co-creatively responsible for the painting, in new and different ways of appreciation and integration

J'ai la grande tristesse de vous faire part du décès de ma tante Jeanne Richardson, soeur de Jacqueline Richardson, décédée, et de mon père Jean Pierre Richardson

Elle nous a quitté le 12 juillet 2007 à l'âge de 80 ans.

Nous l'avons accompagné  à sa dernière demeure le 16 juillet à Besançon.

Anna ,  Annette et Alain Richardson, ses nièces et son neveu)
Une vie modeste et dévouée au service de sa famille...un exemple pour nous tous.

Merci tata Jeanne de m'avoir appris à tricoter pour le froid climat de Dalat.

Je vous souhaite à tous d'excellentes vacances avec vos retrouvailles, vos joies et vos peines...et  toujours solidaires au sein de la grande famille Yersin.

  C'est vraiment une très triste nouvelle.

    Je suis plus désemparé que l'auteur de linformation qui lui au moins ira soutenir Mariette Chau notre amie d'enfance.

    C'est un véritable malheur à quelques jours de la nouvelle année lunaire d'autant plus qu'il est né la même année que moi et qu'il était en meilleur santé.

    Si quelqu'un écrit une lettre à Mariette Chau pour lui remonter le moral,  pourrait-il me joindre à sa démarche.

J'ai l'immense douleur de vous annoncer le décès de ma tante Jacqueline Richardson, épouse Thimm, soeur de Jean Pierre Richardson, mon père, 
le 9 décembre 2006 à Haarlem en Hollande.
C'est une ancienne élève du lycée Yersin.
 Elle était à la recherche de ses anciennes amies à l'approche de la fin...hélas sans succès ...
 Merci d'avoir relayé l'avis Hoang....

Je partage avec vous le beau message d'espoir de sa dernière lettre.
Je prend l'avion pour Haarlem ce jour pour les obsèques qui auront lieu demain le 15 décembre.

Puisse cette lettre être pour nous tous un message de paix et d'amour pour ces fêtes de fin d'année...quelque soit nos convictions religieuses.

My very dear ones !

 

I could write to you books over the mercy and goodness of my LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ, during this last phase of my life. He has been blessing me and our family with all kinds of Heavenly Blessings everyday anew. Am so thankful and happy to be in His arms and rest in Him.

 

My husband Arno as well as our 3 children Paul Pierrette and Iris have helped me enormously to empty my room from unnecessary things. I’am thankful to be able to give some of my books, clothes etc…to the right persons, to throw away my “notes” from study in college

( Harrisonburg, Va) and Universities (Amsterdam), to throw away my banking papers, which try to show that I didn’t spend money needlessly !! and did give it at the “right” places !! to get rid of my decades of agendas showing me how I spent my time “usefully”!! and was  “able to do so much” – as if time and money do not  belong to God !!! What idle and foolish thoughts ! My  glory is thus gone, and God seems to be able  to take me more seriously. Thank you LORD.

 

If some of you don’t know : I had cancer of the end of darm three years ago. That was healed. Half a year ago, we discovered that the left lung is swollen with a new cancer, the right lung is full of metastases. Since then, the throat also got sick as well as different glands, the liver  and different glands in the stomach and intestines… “Normally” I should have passed away already, but to day I’am writing this letter to you !

 

Please think of something good we have experienced together and pray a prayer of thanksgiving to God for it. Also pray  that I would remain faithful to God my creator until the end, and that my body, as sick as it is, would remain the temple of Holy Spirit. Thank you so very much. If I have caused you pain any time, please forgive me. Sorry I did not have the strength anymore to write all this in your language. May someone can translate it for you.

 

This is thus my last letter to you “normally”. Thank you for all you mean to me, and thank God. This is thus my last hug, and sign of love and blessing for you. Since I have been practising the blessing-as you have read  on the other side of this letter, I have seen many concrete happenings – wonderful !- I wish you would practice it too, if you didn’t already.

 It really works.
